"Into the woods, then out of the woods ~ and happy ever after!"
from the musical Into the Woods by Stephen Sondheim Regular Fall Programs begin September 13th.

Introducing Baby Yoga! We will focus on using non verbal gestures and signs to facilitate communication for your child and reduce frustration. We will introduce sitting for a story and how to read a book to an infant that helps to capture their interest. We will sing songs and do finger plays as well as listen to music to promote language development. We will present ways to calm a child such as by using massage, joint compressions, and touch that improve body awareness. Books that will be read will include simple concepts such as animal and environmental sounds, the alphabet, colors, numbers, etc. We will have a craft activity that is appropriate for the age of the child for them to complete with parental assistance related to the weekly theme. No Registration Required

This program is designed for the toddler. We will increase the amount of time a child can focus on a book by introducing picture books with a few words on each page. We will sing songs, do finger plays, and listen to music to promote language development. The goal of this class is to model story time and circle time for a child to improve their listening skills and promote the love of books. We will have a craft activity that is appropriate for the age of the child for them to complete with parental assistance related to the weekly theme. No Registration Required

This class is designed for children ages 3 and up, to promote the skills needed to enjoy a story time and be a great listener. We will sing songs with fingerplays that are familiar to the children, so they can participate in the activity. When a story is read, questions are asked for the children to respond to, which promotes active listening. We will have a craft activity for the child to complete with parental assistance, that is age appropriate and related to the weekly theme. Caregivers do not need to be present during storytime, however, please do not leave the library and return to the storytime room to help with the craft after the first half hour. No Registration Required

This is a wonderful playgroup that provides opportunities for children ages 1-3 years old, with a caregiver, to engage in multiple activities with their peers. We have centers around the room that include an Art and Crafts table, Puppet theater, kitchen, blocks, puzzles, musical instruments, ride on toys, dolls, cause and effect toys, etc… The group is designed to facilitate activities that promote development in the following 5 areas; Gross Motor skills, Fine Motor skills, Language and Communication, Cognitive Development, and Social/Emotional Development. The children are encouraged to play and interact for 45 minutes and then for the remaining 15 minutes, the children gather around for circle time. During the circle time, we use songs and fingerplays to further stimulate their development and prepare them for story time and a love of books! No Registration Required
