Reference Services


A Reference Librarian is available to provide answers to your questions in person, by phone (610-933-3013, Ext. 32) or by email - mpinto@ccls.org. The Reference Librarian's hours are:

Harrop Tutoring/Quiet Study Room


The Harrop Room in the rear of the Carnegie Room is available for quiet study except during posted reserved times. The room may be reserved by literacy and educational tutors during normal Library hours. To reserve the room, contact the Adult Services Director at 610-933-3013, Ext. 32 or mpinto@ccls.org

Political Services


A satellite office of State Representative Paul Drucker (D) is staffed on the first Thursday of the month from 1:00 to 4:00 PM in the Harrop Room for Q&A with constituents and dissemination of government material. No appointment is necessary.



A satellite station of State Representative Duane Milne (R) is staffed and located in the Carnegie Room on the first Monday of the month from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. A representative is on hand for Q&A with constituents and dissemination of government material. No appointment is necessary.

Passport Acceptance


Phoenixville Public Library is now accepting passport applications on behalf of the U.S. Department of State. U.S. citizens planning international travel may apply for their passports, by appointment only, on the following days and times:


Mondays -- 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Tuesdays -- 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Wednesdays -- 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Thursdays -- 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Fridays -- 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Saturdays -- 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM


Appointments must be made by calling the Reference Desk at 610-933-3013, Ext. 32. Walk-ins are not accepted.


For application forms, information on required documentation, fees, and a wealth of other passport and international travel information, applicants should visit the only official website for passport information -- travel.state.gov.

Income Tax Forms


Each year, January through April, the Library makes available a selection of the most commonly used Federal and State income tax forms and instructions, with additional Federal forms available for photocopying. Customers must help themselves. The Library cannot dispense tax advice.

Photocopying & Document Scanning Services


A self-service copier is available in the Adult Library. Self-service document scanners are available in the Public Computer Center and at the Computer Workstation for Senior Citizens and the Visually and Hearing Impaired. There is no charge for use of a scanner, but printing charges may apply.

Services for the Visually & Physically Impaired


Mail Order Delivery


Chester County residents who are homebound may receive books and audiobooks free of charge through the mail. Customers must pay return postage. For more information, call 610-280-2644.



Free Audiobook Rentals


Customers with visual impairments may borrow audiobooks free of charge from any Chester County Library. Customers wishing to receive this benefit must apply at the Chester County (Exton) or Hankin Library branches. For more information, call 610-280-2649.



Daily Local News on Tape


Customers with visual or physical impairments may receive recorded excerpts of the Daily Local News weekly free of charge through the mail. For more information, call 610-280-2644.
