The Friends of the Phoenixville Library is a volunteer organization dedicated to improving the services and resources of the Phoenixville Public Library. The work of the Friends provides financial support by supplementing the library's annual operating budget through special activities to purchase needed equipment and materials for library and customer use.
Friends share the common goal of promoting library involvement in the life of the community and community involvement in the life of the library. They realize that access to information is critical to all ages and that everyone in Chester County benefits from a quality library.
Your annual membership in the Friends provides:
- issues of the Friends newsletter
- opportunities to plan and be part of fundraisers and special events
- the satisfaction that you can help the Phoenixville Library CHANGE LIVES.
The Friends raise funds for the Library through:
- Spring and Fall book sales
- Annual membership dues
- Sales of Entertainment coupon books
The Friends sponsor for the Library:
- I Love My Library party
- Poetry Contest
You can help by giving your time in some events and activities listed below:
- "Love My Library" party in May
- Sort books and set up book sale
- Work at book sale or Friends Books
- Provide baked goods for events
- Make phone calls for events
- Other Friends activities
If you shop at Acme Market, you can support the Friends by bringing in your checkout receipts and placing them in the box across from the Adult Circulation Desk. Acme will donate a small percentage of your bill to the Friends.
